Katia Skanavi just released her new CD with recitals of works by Beethoven, Schumann and Prokofjew. "Les Deuxièmes 2onates Pour Piano" is distributed via Lyrinx.
Katia will perform on the 18th of May a solo recital at the renowned Philharmonie of St. Petersburg.

Katia Skanavi will start the concert season 2014/15 with Beethovens Tripel Concerto in the USA and continue with chamber music in Japan at the festival "Le pont" (Artistic Director: Daishin Kashimoto, concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra). On January 24th and 25th 2013, Katia Skanavi will perform Rachmaninov's Paganini Rhapsody in Ankara, Turkey with the Presidential Symphony Orchestra and Vakhtang Machavariani.
The reissue of Katia Skanavis Chopin recital, which was released in April 2012 on the Piano Classics label, was praised in the German "PIANONews" magazine. Robert Nemecek awarded the highest rating for her "Interpretation" in issue 6-2012 on www.pianonews.de.
Katia Skanavi will be judging at two different piano contests in November this year. At the 13th Nutcracker International Television Contest for Young Musicians, organized by VGTRK and Kultura TV Channel, participants may not be older than 14 years. More details can be found here.
Menahem Pressler will be the president of the jury of the highly acclaimed Long Piano Contest in Paris this year. Katia Skanavi will be part of the jury of this contest too, which will take place at the end of November and the beginning of December.
From July 5th-11th, Katia Skanavi will perform at the chamber music festival "Kammermusikfest Lockenhaus". Once founded by Gidon Kremer, it is now the first year with new artistic director Nicolas Altstaedt. Have a look at the festival's website here!
